While McDonald’s may be fine with their guests getting scalded with hot coffee, it appears they draw the line at mop water, the fast food giant offering an apology after a security guard working at one of their London locations doused an unhoused person’s setup with a bucket full of filthy water.
On Saturday night, a security guard working at the McDonald’s on London’s Victoria Street tried to stop a homeless man from resting in front of their restaurant in one of the most a-holey moves possible, soaking all of his belongings — including his sleeping bag — dirty with mop water.

“Leave me the f—k alone!” the man can be heard asking the guard, audibly upset.
Though a second guard tried to prevent a passerby from filming the incident, attempting to block the camera from capturing the unfolding drama, the witness spoke out, admonishing the workers for their abhorrent behavior.
“That’s wrong, you know that!” he told the guard. “That is bang out of order!”
Yet the filming bystander was far from alone in his outrage.
“What a piece of shit,” wrote one Redditor of the now-viral moment. “That sleeping bag may be one of the only few things homie got.”
Shortly after the post began making the rounds on social media, McDonald’s spoke out, offering an apology.
“We are shocked and saddened by this incident,” read the message shared on Sunday. “The third party security guards involved have been permanently removed from our restaurants and the restaurant team has been reminded of the importance of treating all people with respect, including vulnerable people both in the restaurant and within the wider community.”
So take it from this tale of Maccas woe — while we may add on an order of fries, no one, and I repeat no one, wants dirty mop water with that.
